In 1964, the Beatles released A Hard Day's Night, the film and album. John Lennon and Paul McCartney recieved an Academy Award as composers of the Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Show. The song, actually written by John after the movie was completed and in need of a title, came from an expression used by Ringo after a concert. The lyrics express a feeling to which we can all relate...

"When I'm home everything seems to be right..."

For most of us, home is accepted as a fact of life, but for 22 million refugees and millions more internally displaced persons (IDPs), home is now just a dream. This site, Hard Day's Night Club, is about assisting people who have had to flee their homes and homelands. The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is the largest organization in the world with this mandate. Under the Organizations heading, you will find links to UNHCR, USA for UNHCR, and other groups who assist in that endeavor. Some focus solely on the plight of children, others on health, education, and job training. Each with their own areas of expertise have a common goal: to provide aid to refugees and people displaced internally. The News Around the World section has reports and stories, some from dedicated workers in the field. Hard Day's Night Club is not trendy or exclusive; there are no membership fees for the information provided on this site. If you do choose to join the "club" by contributing to any of these vital organizations that are helping people find shelter and security, you will know....

"the things that you do, will make 'someone' feel alright"
